Cala Luna Restaurant, Mosman

My best friend's bus always drives by this little cafe (during daytime, beautiful italian Restaurant at night) in Mosman, just pass the Spit Bridge. He had been meaning to eat there for some time. I managed to snap up quite a good deal online earlier in the year, $20 for $43 worth of food from their breakfast menu. For a Saturday morning, it was really quiet, but it soon picked up with many locals dropping in for takeaway coffee, etc.

The meal included 2 juices and any 2 breakfast items on their menu.

Breakfast bruschetta with side of bacon (+$3)

V went for their breakfast bruschetta, which was absolutely amazing. The poached egg was still slightly runny and coated the tomato salsa. The avocados were really soft and mixed with a slight lemon juice dressing which soaked into the toasted sourdough. This was completely moreish and such a good start to the weekend.

Fluffy ricotta pancakes with berry compote

My fluffly ricotta pancakes were super fluffy and light. The berry compote that came with it tasted really homemade as it wasn't overly sweet. The splash of sour cream on the side was strange. I'm not normally a fan of sour cream so left most of that behind. A scoop of vanilla icecream would have been a welcomed substitute :). V actually went to the dentist earlier in the morning so needed to eat something softer. We ended sharing our breakfasts.

The atmosphere here is wonderful and with a solid menu, I'm keen on trying other items on offer for both lunch and dinner. This deal is probably one of the best value and quality (in terms of food) I've bought in the year.

The breakfast bruschetta looks tasty! My fave cafe serves mascarpone with their ricotta pancakes which is super yummy!
